Two Ways to Work With Us

Consignment is often the stronger path for high-value projection gear. Outright buyout is still available when the cleaner move is to close quickly.

Consignment

We Sell It For You

For select projectors, lenses, and packages, we manage the resale process through our buyer network. We handle testing, presentation, buyer communication, and transaction management.

Best for:

  • Premium laser projectors and specialty models
  • Large lens packages or complete projection kits
  • Gear where market exposure may improve recovery
Outright Buyout

We Buy the Projectors Directly

We review the projector, lens, accessory, or fleet details and make a direct purchase offer. This is the cleanest path when you want storage cleared and the sale closed without managing listings.

Best for:

  • Quick liquidations or facility cleanouts
  • Working projectors you want sold now
  • Duplicate inventory, trade-ins, and decommissioned fleets

Who we buy from

Common Projector Sale Situations

We buy used projection equipment from venues, houses of worship, universities, corporate campuses, production companies, AV integrators, rental houses, and IT recyclers nationwide.

Single High-End Unit

A Christie, Barco, Panasonic, Epson, or Digital Projection unit coming out of a venue, install, or backup inventory.

Fleet Decommission

Multiple projectors, mixed models, spare lamps, lenses, mounts, cases, and accessories from a refresh or closure.

Unclear Condition

Warehouse finds, limited-testing situations, older stock, or equipment that needs technical review before resale.

Used Projectors & Lenses We Buy

We focus on professional large-venue projection equipment, typically 8,000+ lumens. Laser and lamp-based units both have a place here. The cleaner the model list, hours, lens details, and condition notes, the faster we can evaluate the package.

Projector Bodies

Single-chip and 3-chip DLP, LCD, and laser-phosphor projectors from major professional manufacturers including Christie, Barco, Panasonic, Digital Projection, and Epson. We buy new and used projectors across all major product families: from the Christie Crimson and Griffyn series to Barco UDX and G-series, Panasonic PT-RQ and PT-RZ lines, and beyond. We evaluate based on technology, lumen output, resolution, lamp/laser hours, and overall condition. Complete units with lenses are preferred, but we'll consider bodies only.

Lenses

Zoom, fixed, and specialty lenses compatible with professional projector platforms. We buy individual lenses, lens kits, and large lens inventories. Even if you're not sure of compatibility, send us the part numbers and we'll sort it out.

Rigging & Cases

Road cases, flight cases, stacking frames, rigging hardware, and custom mounts designed for professional projectors. If you're liquidating a projection package, we'll take the full kit: projector, lens, case, and rigging together.

Accessories & Parts

Input cards, signal processors, remote controls, replacement lamps, lamp modules, filters, and other OEM accessories. We actively buy used AV accessories and spare parts. These items carry real value on the secondary market, and we're always looking to add to our inventory. We're happy to include accessories in any buyout or consignment package, or purchase them separately.

Condition Does Not Disqualify It

We buy used projectors in a range of conditions: from fully working units to as-is equipment. Our in-house technical team at our Milwaukee facility handles testing, cleaning, and board-level repairs, so don't count out projection equipment that's been sitting in storage.

Used professional projectors staged for inspection and resale

Working Units

Fully operational used projectors in good cosmetic and functional condition. These command the highest offers and move the fastest through our remarketing channels.

Needs Service

Used units with minor issues: lamp warnings, filter alerts, firmware needs, or cosmetic wear. We repair and refurbish in-house and factor service costs into our offer.

As-Is / Unknown

Pre-owned equipment that hasn't been powered on in a while or has known faults. We'll still evaluate it. Many "dead" projectors have recoverable value in parts or can be brought back to life through our refurbishment process.

Projector seller questions

Projector Selling FAQ

Answers for sellers comparing outright projector buyout, consignment, freight, value, and condition before sending a gear list.

How do I sell a used projector?

Send the make, model, condition, lamp or laser hours if known, and photos through our quote form. We review the market and respond within one business day with a direct buyout offer, a consignment proposal, or both. If you accept, we arrange nationwide freight or pickup and handle the logistics from there.

Where can I sell a professional projector for cash?

StradEvents buys used professional and large-venue projectors outright for cash when you want a fast, clean exit. Send the model and condition and we return a cash buyout offer, typically within one business day. For higher-value or specialty units, consignment can recover more, and we will tell you honestly which path fits.

What projector brands and models do you buy?

We focus on professional and large-venue projection: Christie, Barco, Panasonic, Epson, and Digital Projection, and similar. Single-chip and 3-chip DLP, laser and lamp-based, plus lenses, frames, cases, and rigging. If you are unsure whether your model qualifies, send it over and we will take a look.

How much is my used projector worth?

Value depends on the make and model, lumens and resolution, lamp or laser hours, condition and completeness, included lenses, and current demand. Flagship and current-generation large-venue units hold value best. See our used projector value guide for detail, or send your model for a specific quote.

Do you buy projectors that need repair or have high lamp hours?

Often yes. High hours, a dead lamp, a fault, or a missing lens usually means a price adjustment rather than a rejection. We assess each unit and factor any service into the offer. Non-working and as-is projectors can still have real value in parts, panels, or refurbishment.

How fast do I get an offer and get paid?

Most quotes go out within one business day of receiving your model and condition details. On a direct buyout, payment follows promptly once the unit is received and verified. On consignment, you are paid when the projector sells, with clear terms agreed in writing up front.

Should I sell my projector outright or consign it?

Direct buyout is best when speed and simplicity matter. Consignment often recovers more on higher-value or specialty units where the right buyer takes longer to find. We can recommend either, or a blended approach, based on the specific gear. See our buyout vs consignment guide for how we decide.

Can I sell a single projector, or do you only take fleets?

Both. We buy and consign single high-end units as well as full fleet decommissions from rental houses, venues, integrators, houses of worship, schools, and production companies. Tell us what you have and we will match the right process to the size of the sale.

Do you handle shipping and freight for large-venue projectors?

Yes. We coordinate insured nationwide freight and can arrange pickup for large or heavy units, and provide packing guidance so they arrive safely. See our guide on packing a large-venue projector.
